Author Guidelines

Authors submitting manuscripts to the Journal of Islamic Banking are responsible for complying with the following publication ethics and manuscript requirements:

  1. Manuscripts submitted to the Journal of Islamic Banking must be relevant to the journal’s focus, objectives, and aims and scope.
  2. Manuscripts must be written in Indonesian using clear, academic, and grammatically correct language.
  3. Manuscripts must be prepared using Microsoft Word, with Times New Roman 12 pt font and 1.15 line spacing, and must follow the official Journal of Islamic Banking article template.
  4. Manuscripts should contain 5,000–8,000 words.
  5. The title must be concise, informative, specific, and accurately reflect the main topic and content of the manuscript.
  6. The abstract must not exceed 250 words and should briefly present the research purpose, methodology, main findings, and conclusion or implications.
  7. Each manuscript must include 3–5 keywords representing the main concepts, variables, or topics discussed in the article.
  8. The manuscript should be organized according to the official Journal of Islamic Banking article template and generally include the introduction, literature review, research method, results and discussion, conclusion, acknowledgements (if applicable), and references.
  9. Authors must use Mendeley Reference Manager to manage citations and references.
  10. Every source cited in the manuscript must be included in the reference list, and every source listed in the reference list must be cited in the manuscript.
  11. All citations and references must follow the APA referencing style.
  12. Each manuscript must contain a minimum of 20 relevant references, particularly from scholarly journal articles and academic books.
  13. All submitted manuscripts are subject to a Turnitin similarity check, with a maximum similarity score of 30%. Authors remain responsible for avoiding plagiarism and properly citing all sources.
  14. Authors must ensure that all research data, findings, analyses, tables, figures, and other information presented in the manuscript are accurate and accountable. Fabrication, falsification, manipulation, or misrepresentation of research data and findings is not permitted.
  15. The use of AI tools to generate any part of the manuscript, including text, images, research findings, analysis, tables, or figures, is not permitted. AI tools may only be used to assist with language clarity and grammar.
  16. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, and content of their manuscripts. AI tools must not be listed as authors.
  17. Any permitted use of AI tools during the writing process must be disclosed in an “AI Declaration in Writing Process” section placed after the Acknowledgements section.
  18. Authors must use the official Journal of Islamic Banking article template when preparing and submitting their manuscripts.
  19. Before submission, authors must ensure that the manuscript complies with all requirements concerning scope, format, word count, abstract, keywords, references, APA style, Turnitin similarity, and AI usage.
  20. By submitting a manuscript, authors acknowledge that they have read and agree to comply with the Author Guidelines and Publication Ethics of the Journal of Islamic Banking.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check and confirm that their manuscript complies with all of the following requirements. Submissions that do not meet these requirements may be returned to the authors for revision.

  1. The manuscript has not been previously published and is not currently submitted to or under consideration by another journal.
  2. The manuscript has been prepared using the official Journal of Islamic Banking article template and follows the requirements stated in the Author Guidelines.
  3. All sources cited in the manuscript are included in the reference list, and all references listed have been cited in the manuscript.
  4. The manuscript has been checked using Turnitin and meets the maximum permitted similarity threshold of 30%.
  5. The manuscript does not contain plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, or any other form of academic misconduct.
  6. The manuscript complies with the journal's AI Usage Policy, including the AI Declaration in Writing Process when AI has been used in accordance with the journal's policy.
  7. The authors have carefully reviewed the manuscript and confirmed that it complies with the Author Guidelines and Publication Ethics of the Journal of Islamic Banking.
