Menumbuhkan Literasi Keuangan Anak Melalui Gerakan Menabung Pada Komunitas Baca Binaan Forum Generasi Pesisir Berkarya Sidomulyo Tuban

Abstract

This financial literacy education activity was designed to teach young children about the proper use of money, wise financial management, and the importance of saving for the future. The activity was held in Sidomulyo Village, Tuban District, Tuban Regency, and targeted children who were assisted by the Reading Community of the Coastal Generation Forum. The education method included the delivery of materials through direct instruction, hands-on activities such as making piggy banks from used drink bottles, and focus group discussions to allow for feedback and evaluation of the service. The results of the activity showed that the children had a low level of financial literacy, understood money only as a means of buying things they wanted, and did not have active savings. They also reported that their parents did not encourage them to save and provided pocket money only for snacks or to buy toys. Despite these challenges, all of the participants were very enthusiastic about participating in the activities, asking many questions and following the instructions of the service team.
